June 15 - Antelope Canyon & Horseshoe Bend

Took Lu to her Rover home for the day. Met the young mom and all looked good so off we went.

Standing on the bridge this large houseboat goes by shaking and bouncing the bridge! Yikes

Off for our slot canyon tour with Dixie's Antelope Canyon Tours. When we arrived there were 2 tour companies side by side, turns our Navajo brother and sister! Great money making businesses.

Josie was our guide. She started out pretty stern but we saw why really quickly. We all got nicknames, of course we were Canadians, there was "mommas" and then 'Taiwan". She was constantly yelling ..."Taiwan!!! No stopping on the stairs!"..."Taiwan!!!!! No taking pictures until on the ground!!!"..."Taiwan!! TAIWAN!! TAIWAN!...

She quickly adjusted everyone's picture taking device and throughout the tour she put out her hand and took pictures of everyone and showed you how to capture the light. Most of the good pictures below...were hers.

Long dusty walk through the desert until you reach the stairs where you descend into the canyon.

And out we come....

A storm started brewing so we stopped at Big John's Texas BBQ to fill our bellies and quench our thirst!

The storm was over pretty quickly so we went to Horseshoe Canyon. Lots of improvements since 2016, including $10 City of Page parking,  but also looks like lots of trail improvements also. Last time I had to lay on my belly and shimmy to end end to get a complete pic of the horseshoe...luckily this time I did not.  They built a great-safe viewing area...

Cool plant with enormous seed pods!

Picked up Lu, who seemed to have a good time at daycare with Alison.
The boys wanted to follow a houseboat being put in the water.
Another storm coming through!

Back at the Kriegs for cocktails and snacks...Lu has been working real hard at making friends with Steph!!

Another great day and night on vacation with the Kriegs! 💕
